Codex Relay Support

Help for pairing the mobile app with a local Codex Relay server, reviewing app behavior, and contacting the developer.

Setup

Codex Relay requires a relay server running on your computer.

npx codex-relay@latest

The command prints a QR code and pairing payload. Open the mobile app, scan the QR code or tap Paste QR, then approve the device from the server terminal.

Network Requirements

Your phone must be able to reach the Mobile URL printed by the relay server.
Same Wi-Fi, local network routing, or Tailscale are recommended.
If the printed URL is not reachable, restart the server with CODEX_RELAY_PUBLIC_URL set to a reachable URL.

App Review Testing

For App Review, a temporary review server may be provided so reviewers can test the app without installing Codex or running the relay locally. Open the app, tap Paste QR, paste the provided pairing payload, and wait for the app to connect.
